Are you a licensed locksmith?
Yes. In California a locksmith must be licensed with the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and the Dup-A-Key license is LCO 7064. You can look it up on the BSIS website to check the status.
Will I be charged extra fees once you arrive?
Dup-A-Key gives you the full price over the phone. On broken key and lock repair calls there can be more going on with the lock than what was described on the phone, so any additional repair price is discussed and agreed before the work is done.
Do you come to me or do I come to the shop?
Both are options. The locksmiths drive to you throughout San Diego, and there is also a Pacific Beach locksmith shop and key duplication center at 1478 Garnet Avenue.
How quickly can a locksmith get to me?
A qualified locksmith drives to your location. Arrival time depends on where you are and traffic, and the shop gives an estimate by phone.
What are your hours?
The shop and mobile service run Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm and Saturday from 8am to 6pm. Sunday is closed.
Can you replace a lost car key or program a remote?
Yes. Dup-A-Key replaces and programs car chip keys, remote keys, and high security laser cut sidewinder keys, and can cut and program them on site rather than at a dealer.
