Awaken Chiropractic is a chiropractic office on NW 41st Street in Gainesville, FL, led by Drs. Shane and Brittany Semegon along with a team of chiropractors. Both grew up in Gainesville, graduated from the University of Florida, and earned their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, where Dr. Shane received advanced training in neurologically based chiropractic care. The practice uses the Torque Release Technique, a gentle instrument-assisted adjustment applied with an integrator that involves no twisting, popping or cracking, alongside the Pierce Results System for analyzing spinal motion and the Webster Technique for prenatal care. Care covers back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches and migraines, disc injuries, sports injuries, posture correction, car accident recovery, and pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic. New patients start with a one-on-one consultation and chiropractic examination with Dr. Shane, with digital X-rays taken if clinically appropriate, then return for a Report of Findings visit where the results and the recommended care plan are explained.

What happens on my first visit?
Your visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Shane to discuss your health history, symptoms and goals. You then receive a comprehensive chiropractic examination, and if clinically appropriate, digital X-rays are taken to provide a complete picture of your spinal health.
What happens on the second visit?
The second visit is your Report of Findings appointment. Dr. Shane reviews your exam and X-ray results, explains what is contributing to your symptoms, and walks you through his recommended care plan. If appropriate, you also receive your first chiropractic adjustment at that visit.
Does an adjustment involve twisting or cracking?
No. The Torque Release Technique used at Awaken Chiropractic applies gentle pressure with a special instrument called an integrator. There is no twisting, popping or cracking, which is one reason it is the preferred method at the practice.
What techniques do the chiropractors use?

Who are the chiropractors at Awaken Chiropractic?
Drs. Shane and Brittany Semegon grew up in Gainesville, graduated from the University of Florida, and earned their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. Dr. Sarah Hull also graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL and is certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Lilli Anne Rowland is the office manager.

Hours are Monday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Thursday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The office is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
