Do you provide the truck and moving equipment?
Yes. A full-service move includes a truck with moving equipment and a team of movers. The trucks carry furniture pads, plastic wrap, tool kits, dollies and heavy lifting tools, and A.M.P.M runs several trucks with different load capacities for cargo such as refrigerators, washing machines, couches and pianos. Trucks are as large as 26 feet, and a 16-foot option is offered in some cities for smaller inventory.
Can I book movers if I already have my own truck?
Yes. With the labor-only service you can arrange a team of movers to load and unload your furniture and belongings from your own truck. Note that the crew cannot drive or park a rented or personal truck, and because A.M.P.M tools are stocked on its own trucks, the crew will not bring tools, so it helps to rent a dolly, pads, wrap and straps along with your truck.
Do you offer packing services?
Yes. The packing crew is separate from the moving crew and only provides packing services, so it should be booked separately and A.M.P.M asks to be told in advance of your move date. The packing crew arrives with the supplies you will need, from moving grade boxes to bubble wrap, tape and blankets.
What counts as a long-distance move?
Moves in excess of 50 miles are considered long distance. Long-distance moves are priced using a flat rate, so no extra charge is incurred if the move runs long, and A.M.P.M asks that you call a representative to receive an accurate estimate for those jobs.
How is pricing calculated?
Prorated moves are estimated on the amount of time you reserve and billed in increments of one minute. The minimum is two hours for movers only and two hours for movers and a truck, and if the service finishes before the minimum is reached you pay the minimum. On local moves, travel time between locations is billable, and a service fee is charged to help cover business costs such as travel, fuel and moving supplies where applicable.
What payment methods do you accept?
A.M.P.M accepts all major credit cards as well as digital payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash and check are not accepted for the move itself, although you are welcome to tip using cash or your preferred payment method. All reservations require a card on file, and you are not charged until the move is over.
How much notice do you need to schedule a move?
Moves can be scheduled with as little as one day's notice. To guarantee a reservation, book more than three days out; bookings under three days are accepted but cannot be guaranteed until they are staffed. Same-day moves are possible when there is availability, with a $50.00 last-minute fee attached to the final bill.
What happens if something is damaged during my move?
Start a claim by emailing A.M.P.M, and you will receive a link to the Damage Claim form. Claims must be filed within 5 business days of the move date, and damaged items should be kept until the claim is resolved. Settlements follow the Damage Protection Policy in Section 8 of the Terms of Service, which covers eligible personal property at 60 cents per pound per item damaged, up to $1,000 per order for labor-only services or $2,000 per order for labor-and-truck services.
